Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Good fast Mexican food and friendly service. Great burritos, I've eaten lunch from here a dozen times and always have a good experience.

AWFUL! My wife and I ordered through the drive through just before they were closing. We were starving!! Once we got home and took a bite out of the "steak" tacos. Aaaaah! It was not good at all!!! It seems like they scraped what ever meat was left from the grill and served it to us. Burnt! You would think that the food would taste really good, due to our starvation hiding its true taste. Butttt nooooo! It's garbage food! The chips were greasy and no flavor whatsoever! Keep your money....honestly you will be better off going a block north of this place to McShit.

I am quite surprised by the abundance of negative reviews as well! I love this place. Granted, Chicago Heights is certainly not my favorite place to dine, but I have actually went out of my way specifically to eat here. I find their food to be wonderful. I will say that I am a vegetarian - so I cannot speak for the meat, but the veggie tacos and burritos are always great! I find them very flavorful and the prices are a real bargain! The portion sizes are generous. I will say the drive thru can be a little slow at times but that wouldn't stop me from eating here. Love it!

Pretty damn terrible if you ask me. How do you serve cabeza that doesnt shred apart? I don't understand. Jeez. And the verde sauce was mild and the supposed to be "hot" had a bland , distasteful flavor. I came here as an emergency alternative for Mexican and this was a plain , flat out waste of time , gas , and money. The horchata was the only good thing about this place. Please do better.

Pros- The prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean. The service is efficient. Cons- There is no public restroom. The food is not good, it's actually bland. The meat is always dry. They put waaaaay too much lettuce on the tacos and other dishes. BUT they are open until 3AM on weekends. So, if you're out really late AND other restaurants are closed AND need a place to grab a quick bite after you've been drinking... then check out Burrito Station.

*UPDATED review 8/24/2013* Pros: Great and good tasting hot sauce, good quesadillas Cons: Where do I even begin? This place never had the best tacos, tortas, or burritos. But I ate there today and man, the service and food here has really gone down the tubes. So much, in fact, that it will likely be the last time I eat there. First off, my order was wrong. Usually, this is not a big deal but this place gets my order wrong about half the time I order from there. The steak on my tacos was dried out (from 2 years ago onward, this has been the norm here). Speaking of the steak, there was a shocking lack of it on all 4 of the steak tacos we ordered. Even their hot sauce (still the best I have ever had and one of the reasons I still try ordering from here) could not make up for the joke amount of dried up steak. I also in this order ordered a steak burrito with sour cream and guacamole on the side. Instead, they put the guacamole inside of the burrito. The lack of a restroom is illegal, but if I remember correctly it was the same way back when this building was a Taco Bell. The worse thing here is a common trend with Mexican-food places. The guy making my tacos did not use gloves while he cooked the food, which is gross and a good way to get sick! If you want better Mexican food, there is many other choices. One of them being the South Heights Burrito Station. The food there is always better and they are better at getting your order correctly. I formerly would have rated this place a solid 3 stars, but the only good thing about my order today was their hot sauce. Avoid like the plague!

I was so shocked to see all the negative reviews of this place I had to create an account just to give it a bump. This burrito station is easily my FAVORITE place to go for tacos and burritos. I drive up there from Beecher even though we have a burrito joint in our town. The burrito's are huge, the guac is as good as anywhere else and the salsa is great, as is the hot sauce. Also you can't beat the prices. Its true there is no bathroom and the tables and chairs are crap, but i don't know what anyone expects; its a fast taco shop in chicago heights. Get your food to go and enjoy.

This authentic Mexican fast food joint is the best around....don't be afraid to order the unknown.

From this vegetarian's point of view, Burrito Station is one of the better Mexican joints in the area. Directly across from Prairie State Community College (my college of choice), it is a favorite among the students, and rightfully so. The food is quality for the fast food Mexican style, and the prices are on the low side. $1.25 for a veggie taco is a steal. That being said, there are a couple of annoying parts. There is no restroom, for example (although that is illegal, stores that sell ready-to-be-eaten food are required to have a public restroom in Illinois). The service is pretty decent, though they have occasional missteps. Their tables and chairs are awful cheap pieces of crap that send terrible noises echoing through the room whenever you shift in your seat ever so slightly. My carnivore friends say that the meat has the tendency to be overly dry, which makes for a pretty nasty bit of food if you're a meat eater. The veggies, however, are awesome. They have very good beans and rice that are usually fresh, and they manage to get great flavor out of their vegetarian options, which makes my tummy happy. The best part of Burrito Station is the hot sauce. They serve it in these industrial size ketchup bottles, and it appears home made. Whether it is or not, I can't be sure, but its a fantastic flavor. It adds a strong but not overwhelming spice to the food, and an outstanding flavor that makes everything better. Even when they're having an off day, you can douse your food in this sauce and make it good. I really dig Burrito Station. Its not the best, but its good.

I love Mexican food and this place barely hits the mark. The prices are ok. They charge extra for cheese, sour cream, or any of the other tasty toppings one likes to eat on a taco. The meat is not seasoned well and the steak is dry. The only plus is that they have a drive thru. There is nothing here that stands out.
